How wrong I was. As a man, one all too easily forgets that it takes much more courage for a woman to camp alone in an outdoor shelter. You did it anyway, and you can truly be proud of yourself. Your North German serenity and perseverance, which are foreign to a Rhinelander like me, seem to have motivated you. If someone were to ask me what ‘Hike your own Hike’ means, I would point them to your journey.
