The dream actually came true: already in the very first year, the first thru-hikers set out on the Nord Süd Trail. Although Germany was still under strict COVID-19 regulations in 2021, a few determined hikers decided to take on the NST and walk it from end to end. At that time, the trail was still being hiked in the original route envisioned and designed by Soulboy.
