Hiking in the far north? Yes, indeed. The northern section of the North South Trail has the fewest elevation gains and indeed the highest proportion of asphalt and roads, but it also holds a very special charm.

Anni authentically describes her 14-day journey on the North South Trail in her blog, which took place in 2021. The frustration over the high proportion of roads, the euphoria on the beautiful sections, the drama when a piece of equipment breaks… all of these are stories that every thru-hiker knows and experiences.
What am I doing here? Why am I doing this? Who am I doing this for? The two of them embarked on this two-week journey as a preparatory tour for the PCT 2022. I’m confident that they will conquer the trail, and if not, the NST will still be waiting for them here. Because this trail is like a fine wine, it only gets better with time.
